ONE-PIECE SWIMSUIT CHALLENGE

By Marcia B. - October 19, 2018

The reason why I don't wear one piece swimsuits is because they don't flatter my body type. For those of you who have a small frame, longer legs and shorter torso...wearing a one piece will shorten that area even more and the result is not so flattering. This is why I usually avoid the latter, however I decided to challenge the dilemma by finding a complimenting one piece on Rosegal.com

I do love the beauty of a one piece and the mood it emanates, not only to mention it's convenient for those who don't want to show their midriff area all the time. In thought of all you bikini lovers who may identify with the issue, I selected pieces that would favor a small frame and accentuate the waist area, so the body does not get lost in the mix!

For example, this one piece halter monokini has cut outs on each side which increases definition in the waist area. It is also paired with a knit embellishment right on the bellybutton area, this creates a vertical line illusion with emphasis on the waist.

This Halter stripe two tone monokini swimsuit, follows the same principle as the red monokini. However, the black/white aspect of this style, adds dimension and more volume to the top and bottom area of the body, which complements the waist nicely.

The floral one piece lowback swimsuit is also a ideal for someone of a small frame because of the linear details on the swimsuit. First off, the empire waist is flattering as the mid area is highlighted and the linear darts facing downwards, graze over the hip area which enhances body curves.

This printed one piece strapless monokini swimsuit is another example of how you can get away with wearing a full one piece and it still being flattering. The trick with this look is all about print positioning. The floral design favors the right side of the garment mostly, hence, this creates a curvy illusion to the eye.

It can be tricky to find the perfect one piece to compliment your body type. On Rosegal's website I was happy to find a few that would suit me. Otherwise, if you are bikini obsessed like me, than these two pieces below are great options.

Strappy bikinis that accentuate the female silhouette like these two pictured below are ideal to add definition to the body.

Bikini sets with accents on the top and hip area also compliment those with smaller body types, whether it be a pop of color or adornment, this will add balance to your look.

Looking for a beach cover up? This wrap front maxi slip cover up dress is also flattering to all body types, the wrap around effect contours the waist area nicely.

Rosegal has a wide variety of swimsuits for every type of bikini fashionista and they also have many other goodies. It's actually the Rosegal Halloween Sale at the moment, click below to shop!
