Pop-Up Shop: Rica Swim!

March 07, 2012

This season, fashion Week was in full force, a few steps away from the Lincoln Center was the oasis of the Rica Swim pop-up shop at the Empire Hotel. The electric shop nested all of designer, Ava Sanjurjo's sexy beach confessions, swimwear for the fierce bikini fashionista who is stylishly strong and adventurous. Neons, deep hues and splashes of bright colors describe Rica Swim's artistic direction!

Greeted with the cutest Rica totebag,The Bikini Fashionista and designer, Ava Sanjurjo discussed swimwear, music & community involvement. Rica Swim uses UV protecting fabrics like forgiving silk georgette and meryl fabric to create their swimsuit designs. Read our previous post on Rica Swim and learn more about their current collection.

Ava summed up the "Rica" woman, as a lady who is rich in lifestyle, rich in food, love, sex and experience…her quality of life is “Rich”. Ava’s musical influences derive of New wave, punk & rock and also her style muse Jessica 6. "I love to listen to jazz on Sundays, go to a nice brunch and listen to old dance music." It was a pleasure interviewing designer, Ava Sanjurjo, she is an active member of the community always giving back to her childhood neighborhood, having grown up in the Bronx, Ava always makes It a point to empower the youth in her community, she recently donated bicycles to children in the Bronx. “There are many children in need, my mother has always been an active member of the community, whether she is planting trees or donating her time at a charity event, she is always giving back.”

We love this swimsuit called knots, so hot & fresh, the concept is ideal for the contemporary bikini fashionista. We favorited this look at the Rica Pop-Up Shop, the knotted look is risqué, we absolutely love this adventurous look in red.

Congratulations to Rica Swim on their feature in Sports Illustrated! This hot Rica swimsuit was photographed on model, Michelle Vawer for the Australian Issue!
